After watching the video, A Vision of Students Today made by Michael Wesch many things came to my attention; things that matter to me personally, but also things that matter to education, and even things that matter to the entire world. Thinking on a small scale of how the topics discussed in the video effect me, I would say that it mainly effects my college education. It means I must try hard in school and not slack off in order to have a good job and successful career. The video also made me realize how lucky I am to have the things I do and to have the opportunities that I do. Looking on a larger scale of how the topics in the video effect education there are two major issues. First, classrooms need to be a twenty-first century learning environments, using laptops, smart boards and other technology in the classrooms in an interesting way so that kids are not slacking off all class. Also, I think that classroom sizes should be reduced; this gives students and teachers one on one time and also helps kids stay involved in what the class is doing. Looking on an even bigger scale of how the topics in the video effect the entire world there is only one thing that matters. This is that education is crucial for our world to continue to make advancements, and the countries with the best education will be the most successful. Michael Wesch may have only made a four minute and forty-four second video but the messages and topics of the video matter to me, education, and even the entire world.
